Love and Obedience | 1 John / 4 |
How do we know that we know God? This was a question that the Christians that John was writing to were asking. They were getting very confused about how they could be sure that they knew God. John wanted his audience to know that to truly know God, our knowledge should not be just intellectual, not just obedience, but relationship with God. Who is Jesus? | 1 John / 1 |
We begin a new series, looking at the first letter of John. The same John that wrote the gospel of John and was one of the 12 disciples of Jesus, wrote a letter to reassure Christians in their faith. To help people feel confident in their knowledge of God. So, John begins his letter with exploring who Jesus is. He tells his readers that Jesus is the Incarnate Word - fully God and fully man. Jesus is also the Word of Life, coming to bring God’s message of salvation. And so we should have fellowship with the Word and through Him with others. Read more
